I had one of these some years ago and loved it. However, these have obviously aged in the meantime. What doe he need to look out for? 1999 model.
Thanks

Make sure 4WS light comes on then goes off and 4WS works correctly, as with engine warning light.
Even high milage ones should feel like low milage ones when serviced properly. Mines got 119000 miles on and drives like my last one which was 2 years old with 17000 miles on.. Should be tight with no knocks etc.

Rust can develop on rear arches and inside sunroof.
Front lights mist over, but easily rectified with T cut / Do do juice cleanser....or similar

Break calipers are weak can sieze when rubber perishes 9especially rear) and check discs for wear and warping, (though they are cheap enough to replace). Check clutch for slip, and does it use much oil. the higher the milage the more it will use but it shouldnt be excessive, Engine should idle smoothly and rev smoothly, exhaust colour should be light grey (as with any car) black can indicate oil burning . Check VTEC functions correctly at about 5500rpm

make sure its a manual and have funthumbup
