Hi all,

I've been thinking to sell my 59 plate Type R GT which currently has 2,200 miles on the clock. We tend to use my partners car more when going out as it saves on fuel etc, and I cycle to and from work everyday. The car is in mint condition, with a couple of stone chips which will be sorted out soon.

The car is about to have it's first service with Honda so will have a FSH, I've not had any issues with the car itself.

I'm just wondering how much shall I look to sell it for. The others I have seen have had high mileage so range between 10-13k. Would 16k be too much of an asking price? I'm in not rush (at the moment) to sell, so can wait.

Appreciate your advice.

Cheers

That's false logic on trying to secure a better sale price by waiting (on a liability) unless of course the car is of collectable vintage. Sell, move on and make your money work for you. All the best.

Sorry, what I meant by that was, I can wait around to see if any others pop up with the same sort of mileage (if any) so that I can get an idea on what to look for it.

It's my first time, so don't want to over or under price the car.

Thanks for your help.

Price it for what you think it's worth - use WhatCar to give guidance, and Vauxhall's website for valuation as a trade-in.
Put that against what you see here & autotrader/eBay and it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what is realistic and what's fanciful.

Quick scout here shows two other '10s, low miles, for £15K from a dealer. That's before trade-in or haggling.
Your low mileage doesn't add any value - the engine is deemed bulletproof, so 2000 may as well be 20,000 for all the difference makes.
Your problem is that as it's no longer made, there'll be deals to shift older stock of '11s, so for a bit more money you've the full 3-yr warranty, etc.

If I'm honest, I'd say you're going to struggle to get the sort of price it's ideally worth.
