Hello , i have been advised to sort out my exhaust after our type r (ep3) had been for its mot.

Now as the standard exhaust has possibly been on since new ive decided to plonk for an aftermarket system.

Now i would much prefer a subtle system as i have grown out of loud exhausts and the other half does 15 minutes down the motorway nearly every day .

Yes i could plonk for a oem system but ....i like to upgrade the parts when they fail.

Any recc would be greatly appreciated.

Ps the cars a 2003 Type r.

Assume you just mean catback so in your situation I would go for a Mugen Twin Loop

Avoid Buddy Club! Might be worth getting in touch with Milltek and asking if they do a replacement for the EP3?

Mugen Twinloop for sure. It's quiet quality.

You could save up for it by going on a tea and biscuit diet for 2 months.

Buddy Club Spec 3 is louder than both. J's is pretty loud though. Spoon N1 is nowhere near, had it on my car for 5 years

From what ive read and videos ive seen, the J's racing is the loudest ive heard.

Whats the Spec 3 rated at?

I had a play with a CTR with a full Buddyclub system inc Manifold, and that was way louder than mine, but then my exhaust is only rated at 92dba, id hate it any louder. Think it was a Spec 4.
