Hi All.

Suspect I know the answer; trying to confirm before doing so ;-)

Remotes played up 2-weeks ago and finally stopped working. Put new batteries in as they were a few years old. All tested ok locking and unlocking the car.

Car sat idle for at least 2-weeks in-between.

Just going to use the car and none of the remote fobs work again!

Main battery been in car for the 5 years I've owned it - from second-hand. Wondering it it's dead - but didn't give much warning!

Am I right thinking a red LED flashed either on the speedo\clock or on the standard Honda radio when alarmed? Noticed it's not at present. Owners manual in the car :-(

Do I just unlock with the keys in the hope the alarm doesn't go off?

Cheers

Assuming your car battery hasn't run out of juice it's more than likely the main circuit board has gone, common fault on the 02 cars

Ross.

Thanks for reply and link.

Luckily, it was only the cars main battery that was dead. Oddly though, the alarm didn't go off as I manually unlocked and opened the door - as I was warned it would as the siren has it's own internal battery power. That must be flat as well?

All worked with new car battery :-)

After loads of Googling, and your reply, I'm now aware these CTR alarms are a problem for many! I'll have to "touch wood" mine continues without any problems.

Cheers,
Neil
