MOT'd the S2K today. She did pass ok but MOT guy (John ) was curious.

But after a lot of googling it seems it's a Helmholtz resonator. A device that tunes the exhaust note.

Its a resonator on an S2000 exhaust to stop drone at certain rpm

What would be the result of removing it?
