Hey guys

I own a Chimaera and recently have been looking with a friend for an S2000 for him.

I've been so impressed by the Honda, what a great little car!

Nothing has ever gone wrong with my TVR and it may be even a tiny bit faster (it's the 400 so similar figures) but it's not about the power/speed for me...it was just excellent fun! And to me getting all that poke from just 2.0 is great!

If theres anyone out there interested in trying a Chimaera out properly I'd love to get a good drive in a S2000, who knows I might be interested in a swap!

Interesting!
What does your mate think about your Chim?

A mate of mine has a 4.5 Chimera but although he likes my S2000 but he's in love with torque. He has said the S could have done with the engine from the NSX and cringes when I take it to 9K revs.

I'm really happy with my S and although I love the V8 rumble from the the Chim it's not my cup of tea. I have driven it but find it to big, I'm only a short arse. It does have a certain raw appeal but I'll be keeping the S for now.

If your ever down Bexley way give us a shout. drink

Do you know I've only really driven an s2000 in two conditions - in town, and on a motorway and in both cases I didn't notice any lack of torque to be honest.

He wants something different to me so is not into a Chim but he thinks its awesome!

One other aspect I like about the s2000 is A/C which very few Chimaeras have.

Im after a S2000 in the next couple months, but chims keep bugging me, purely for the sound i think!

But in all honestly i want a car i can buy and not have to worry about it breaking everytime i drive it, hopefully this is something ill get with the S2k, more so than the chim anyhow.

Would love to hear more about peoples experiences with both. (Or even better, go for a spin in both, im in somerset!)

I quite like this one:

8k s2000 and diesel hack is much more interesting than the ctr. Plus not much difference cost wise, (obviously tax and insurance will be more.)

Yeah I saw sK2i. When its up and running I'll have another see.

My mate bought one today anyhow. Apparently it belonged to one of the founder members of sK2i. Has cool traction control, Whiteline arb and nice induction business fitted

Who needs the diesel hack? Just have an ITR for daily duties... biggrin

Nice idea, but ITR not the best for carrying crap and doing 15-20k boring main road trips!

ITR is perfect for carrying stuff, both have massive boots and folding rear seats, well DC5 does, assume 2 has.

S2000 has always been my realistic dream car, but before buying i did flirt with the idea of a chim, but i NEED something that i knew would be 100% reliable, so the Honda it was. I made the right choice imo, but id still love a chim as a weekend car, but i'd need to run a car alongside the chim i think!

Understand.

Many TVR's are totally reliable though.

I even took it to Brussels last Dec right at that heavy snow time around the 18th Dec! No issues!

Loads of space, but 4500rpm whilst cruising along the motorway and a numb ass after 1.5hrs isn't fun.

Solution: Always take A/B roads biggrin

Assume you have a DC2? 5 is easier on motorway. And 80mph is 4k revs in mine.

B road is always solution, hence tell sat nav shortest distance not shortest time. biggrin Winner!

I've just read the CTR buying guide - they've kept issues like the rusty doors quiet didn't they! yikes
Only on FN2's. EP3 do not have any problems with rust
