honda s2000 wipers wont turn off!
Discussion
Help needed!!
my wipers on my 04 s2000 wont turn off.... unless i turn on the headlights!
ive checked all the relevant fuses and had a quick poke around behind the dash for loose wires/connections but all looks OK.... anyone else ever seen this before or any ideas what to check next?
thanks,
Matt.

Questions to answer:-
- How long have you owned the car?
- When did this start?
- When was the car last serviced / worked on and by who?
- Has any work been done to alarm / headlights / electrics in general?
This sounds like crossed wires somewhere. I'm not aware that the S2000's ECU is sophisticated enough to multiplex everything through the same processor, so this is probably a physical hardware issue (i.e. there's a genuine short somewhere) not a software issue.

car was serviced about a month ago but nothing done to the electronics.
the only thing i can think of is that i jetwashed the car at the weekend and water may have got in somewhere but i know that the roof doesnt leak and its never happened before. if it was just the wipers staying on i would have thought it was the switch... but the fact that the lights turn off the wipers is confusing.
what's the best way to find a short if there is one?!
50p says you've jet-washed water into the wiper motor and fubared the auto-park. I don't know about Hondas specifically but am familiar with this problem. Could be new wiper motor. The bodge fix is to remove the autopark 12v supply so the wipers just stop immediately where you turn them off.
Another possibility is a fault in any rain sensor mechanism, if fitted. Bodge fix = disconnect.
