whinning noise from ep3 type r

Hi my type r has a whinning noise when idling, I am hpoing it is not the water pump, has anyone else had this before? I have replaced auxiliary belt at 60k so I dont think it is that.

Seriously though: Is it still there is you push the clutch down? (if not, release bearing). Is it there at all revs or only at idle? Is it belt related or possible air whistle through intake?

it is there is clutch is depressed or not so am not sure if clutch release bearing is related. The only belt has been changed...I want to change the air filter soon anyway but it seems a bit loud to be a whistle from that. am hoping it is not the water pump so was wondering if has to replace theirs what were the signs it was going?

Sorry fella, im running a DC2 with a B18C. I'm sure there will be a K20 specialist or at least owner on here soon. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Is it definitely coming from the engine?

Could it be a high pitched rattle of some sort? There's loads of common rattles such as driveshaft heatshield, iVTEC cover, outlet manifold cover, cat heatshield.
