Hello

I want to obtain a replacement set of wheels, on which I will install winter tyres.

My car is a 2008 Accord Tourer (current model).

I know the rim diameter and width - 17 x 7.

Honda provide this info on their site:
17x7 1/2J

What is the "1/2J" bit?

Specifically I'm trying to find the offset information.

I have tried ringing Honda on this but they cannot help me.

Thanks

Edit: The 1/2J bit simply means 7 1/2 inches wide.
I still need a way of finding the offset.

Take a wheel off the car and have a look inside the spokes, it'll be cast or stamped in there somewhere - something like 17x7.5J55 or ET55 would be a 55 offset.

At a guess it's quite likely to be 55 or possibly 60, which is hard to find an exact match for in the aftermarket.

I think your best bet may be to look for some used wheels off the previous generation Accord and/or current Civic. These are likely to be a close if not identical fitment and easily and cheaply available used.

I took the wheel off - turns out it's offset 55.

Thanks for your help.

Agree with Geraint - try and find some OE rims. Be prepared to go to 16"s if you need to.

Obvious contender: eBay
Alternatives:
- Gumtree / local classifieds
- Wheel wes - go to forums and then down to classifieds. Not easiest to search but at least they show the PCD pattern without going into each advert.
- Accord forums
- Local breakers

Final thought - ask Honda if they do steelies, and how much. VW wanted £60 each for Golf 16"s though...
