Hi guys. Just looking at cars on PH and looking at CTR's for around the 10-11 k mark. You can get a really nice 08 model with 19's for that. My question is about the championship white model. They seem to be more like £15000. Are they really worth 5k more for the colour and LSD? 15 is getting into 350z money and opens up a lot of other options.

Hear from you soon!

Not really worth it IMO, when you get a mint JDM EP3, or a DC5 for a lot less than that.

I haven't looked at the prices of an FD2 recently but 15k might get you one of those these days too.

If you do get an FN2 don't get the 19s. The ride will be awful.

I agree with VeeTec. 15k gets you a proper Type R http://www.fd2-owners.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=... You may need to join up to see that, but it's a lovely 58 plate Vivid Blue Pearl FD2 with 13k miles, new tyres and a couple of other goodies... and it's £15k.

I'd snap that up in an instant if I were in your position. The FD2 is infinitely better than the FN2.

edited to add price of the FD2

I do like that car a lot and always wanted one but £15,000 starts to get me into a lot of other cars. If I was spending 15 I probably wouldn't buy a Civic even though I know that is a true Type R. My main worry about imports and the DC5 are the cars being clocked. It is terrible on Jap Imports in Australia and I just read it is rampant over here.

I love that FD2 but I am thinking more of spending £10,000 if it was going to be on a Civic. I like the EP3 but I would only buy that if my budget was more like 7-8. I would prefer something a bit newer unless my financial position changes. Under £8,000 and I would either buy an EP3 or BMW 325ti.

Also I heard that the FD2 ride is seriously harsh. Great on a track but hard to live with as a daily. Is this true?

I wouldn't worry too much about clocking on the newer stuff (EP3, DC5, FD2), especially something as new as the FD2 above, but i can understand you wanting to look at other options for that kind of money.

The FN2 is a rather firm ride, and would be particularly harsh on the 19in wheels. I'd stick to the 18's, without a doubt.

The ride on the FN2 is hard whatever you run on.....firmly set up, with torsion beam at the back.....19s look MUCH better.

One thing.....getting a good geometry set up makes a big differnce to them, as it did with the EP3.....toyos are a softer tyre well suited to the car too.....eibach springs can also help.
