Hi to all on this forum..Recently bought 2002 S2000GT with the hardtop and thoughts have turned to fitting the hardtop as weather is pants..My question is this, and i know this may seem daft, but when you fit the hardtop,do you need to disconnect the heated rear screen connection for the soft top..I know there is a separate connection point for hardtop heated rear screen but does this over ride the soft top connection when plugged in??Hope this makes sense..........Simon

Yes you do, it's the same power source, unplug soft top, plug in hard top and off you go. Be careful when putting the hard top on as well, two people is advisable as those locating spikes are sharp!!

Riiiiggght, its just that there is a separate socket for the hardtop to plug in,it's even indicated as such(located just behind passenger seat).Sorry to bang on about this and i appreciate your reply but i'm a bit confused..

You do just use the separate socket. Before you start:-
- Make sure soft-top is all-the-way-down. Cold weather will make the hood stiffer than usual, so you may want to do it when you come back from a run with the hood up and heater on.
- Take off the rubber bung on the heater-matrix plug (behind passenger
- Make sure the rubber stoppers on the hard-top spikes are off, and the L-shaped locking arms are twisted so the handles are out, not flat to the inside of the hard top.
- Get a friend to help you locate the spikes over the holes behind the seats (they've got two square 'gaps' either side of the circular hole (so it looks like the London Underground sign) which is why you need the handles in the right place as otherwise the locking lugs won't go through those gaps.
- Once it's roughly in, make sure the front clasps line up to the strikers - easy to 'miss' the rear hole on one side and not realise.
- Once locked down on all sides, if it doesn't sit snugly at the front on one side then (a) undo all four locking bits and do that one first, then the others after; (b) if that still doesn't work, wedge some rubber or cardboard between the 'shaft' of the front locking pin and the metal above it. Will bring it down a little bit more.
