I have had this car 8 years from not quite new.

I ma constanly waiting for it break down, and yet it never has other than a imobilser fault in the middle of north Wales with no mob signal.

Ive done 130,000 miles in most done in the last three of some heavy distnace commuting.

I'm still running the original clutch and exhaust it still flies and it still looks good.

In my opinion this is the best looking Civic ever made, unless one morning when I wake up it has turned into a pile of rust, I will keep it forever.

By the way the belts have never been done... Alway servied but not by dealer.

I used to have one of those on an 03 plate. Not quick by any means (127bhp), but i agree with you that they're a nice looking car and super reliable.

A rare sight, too. Mine was one of only 3 that i used to see locally.

And not to be picky, but it's VTEC. Vtech make childrens toys smile

Edit; Beaten to it by Dracoro!

lol.... Im blaming man flu for that.

I work in Kent and live in Darkest Snowdonia.

On a run I regularly get 40-45 to the gallon and rips along nicely well above the national speed limit.

And have to admit I have only ever seen one in before. May be worth hanging on to..??

I had a P plate Accord 2.2 V-Tech auto(sorry (V-tec) It was immaculate and again I bought it with a very low mileage. It was an absolute flyer, but just too costly fuel wise...

There's no "-" in VTEC either winkbiggrin

I would run it to the ground TBH. It's reliable, not worth that much on the market, certainly worth more to you, the owner.

I have a friend who used to be a salesman at Honda and he told me that there were only around 600 of the EM2 Civics imported. If that's true, it's not surprising that you don't see many about.

They're RHD versions of the US market 7thdgen Civic and interestingly, there is no Japanese domestic market version.

Well that's what i was told. I don't know how accurate it is but i'm assuming that since he worked at Honda he might have access to that kind of info. He and I both owned an EM2 at the same time, so having the correct info was as much in his interests as mine, i guess.

Never had a honda but when I was much younger I had a Triumph Acclaim (honda 1335cc) Ran it till the bodywork was held in place by the paint, it had 216k on the clock and I used to flog it to death. It was not the most fitting car for a then young man so tried to kill it all the time, the mechanics were immune to my efforts. It was a sweet little engine and gearbox combo and to be honest I loved to drive it in the dark!!!!

Thats why I hanker after a NSX or S2000.
Steve.
