Hi folks,

I have an EK4 Civic VTI which could do with new suspension bushes. It clanks a bit over rough roads and it was an advisory on all 4 corners when it was last MOT'd. My concern is that my local Honda dealer (who've always treated me very well) have suggested that the bushes come with the suspension components and cannot be done separately. Surely this is rubbish and would cost a fortune. Anyone have any advice on this?

Many thanks

Honda will sell you the bushes already fitted to new arms etc yes, but you can buy bushes seperately from other sources. I got a kit made up from Hardrace in the states, its stiffer rubber but still fine for the road. Get on the owners forums and see what they do?

Don't forget though, its a lot more work to replace bushes than replace the entire arm as one unit, so its worth bearing in mind the costs compared between the two methods. I'd buy the arms if I had to do mine again, its a ballache biggrin

I had some bushes replaced on my vti when I had it, a dealer will opt to change the component rather than just the bushes as they can be a pain to get out and can take time. So its easier for them but dearer for the customer!!

I took mine to my local Honda specialist (TGM), I was told they can get them out but couldn't say how long it would take, however I was lucky and mine came out easily and I was only charged for the actual time taken.
