I have recently purchased a 2010 Accord Tourer ES GT running on 17 inch Rims with Yokahama db 225/50/R17 tyres. The ride quality over anything other than a super smooth tarmac surface is pretty bad, feeling every lump / bump, manhole cover and imperfection in the road. The overall impression is of a very harsh ride.

I wonder does any one else have a similar view / experience with this model, and on these size wheels . I wonder how much it may improve things by switching to 16 inch rims with higher profile tyres ??. ( Would need to be able to keep the rolling diameter the same ). Is this a practical solution ?

The tyres are also quite noisy, despite supposedly being db reducing tyres !! . Thankfully though, the car has wonderfully supportive seats , which help offset the bad ride.

Does anyone else have a similar experience.

Thanks

Don't the GT and Sports versions have harder suspension than other versions? And a lower ratio final drive (not that it would effect the ride quality!)?
