Is proving problematic for a friend of mine who has a low miles 2004 S2K GT, he has tried PH, Autotrader and Ebay..... any suggestions where might be a good place to advertise it? Do any of the S2K websites / forums have classified sections?

Cheers

I sold mine in February. I priced mine £500 less that all the others in Autotrader and accepted another £500 hit on the sale. Still better that hanging on for 2-3 months with the resultant depreciation over that period.

what's he asking for it and what is the millage?

S2000 asking prices to seam to vary a fair bit if he's asking top money he may struggle.

41,000 miles (7 Honda stamps)

Got it up for £10k, that about right?

Its Berlina black which is nice, but the RED leather may be putting people off!

in February I paid £8600 for a 33k mile 03 GT in very good condition having had a major service the day before I first saw it.

I'm looking at selling mine in a few months at hoping to get close to £8.5k having now covered 42k so an 04 advertised at £10K with low miles doesn't sound particularly over priced but isn't cheap enough to mean the phone doesn't stop ringing.

I guess if he's not desperate to sell it's worth holding on for the right buyer, If he needs to sell maybe advertise at £9250 for an aim of selling at £9k.

Thanks Andy, it feels like it should be worth £10k, but I guess there are more buyers for that sort of car at the beginning of the year than there are at the end of the year.

I'm sure priced at £9250 or even £9500 it should go quite quickly. Just seems a bit cheap to be letting it go for that!

Trying to sell my '99 and its proving difficult!!

Had it on Pistonheads for a month as a premium ad and the last 2 weeks its been on autotrader (waste of time, had NO interest from AT at all) as well as being up on PH again as a non-premium ad...

Dropped from £6800 to 6250 and now on ebay with a reserve of 5600 frown Thing is, its absolutely mint! I think people are put off by its age, but they don't realise if they buy a slightly later model they will end up getting stung with bills to replace bits that mine has already had replaced due to age/wear and tear!!

I'm going to be looking for a new car and an S2000 is fairly high up the list - what is putting me off is not knowing what the servicing is like.....does it HAVE to go back to a dealer for servicing? Does it have a service light that needs resetting? I'm looking to keep the car for a long time so I'm not fussed about selling it on....

Have you a link to the £5600 car tejr?

doesn't have to go to a main dealer, also no service lights on the S2000.

Servicing is quite good value compared to other performance cars, main dealer minor service was £175 a few weeks ago, I think a major is around £350 which is every third service. I've also done the optional oil service between scheduled services myself.

Although hopefully it goes for a LOT more than 5600 otherwise I will genuinely cry! When you see the car you will see how it should really be selling at the top end of the scale for its age, not bottom frown I've probably spent well over £2k on it in the last year getting it near 'perfect'!

As for servicing, even though mine has had a major one (all fluids replaced, oil (incl g'box and diff), coolant, brake fluid etc + loads more) you can service them yourself, very easy car to service. Loads of room in the engine bay to work on it. No service lights to reset and imo, I'd rather buy from an enthusiast than someone who just hands the keys to a garage and forgets about it.. Just make sure you use a decent fully synth oil. The S2000 boys recommend Castrol Edge TD.

You have got a nice car there tejr. I've just had black and I find it difficult to satisfy my cleaning ocd as I find the mhard to keep mark free so am looking at blues and greys.

Good luck with the sale.

Try dropping the price a touch.

The weather is closing in so there are less punters looking for a convertible.

Awesome cars regardless and someone getting a bargain.

I'd say that was about right but as others have said, the weather's closing in and it's not the season for convertibles.
Also insurance seems to be going up for S2000's.
Either he needs to price it keenly to attract interest or perhaps keep a hold until the spring ?.
He may even get then what he'd get now ??
Personally, If prices are that crap then I would just keep a hold. They're great cars for those in the know.

I hope not, looking to get one next year, am 22 so insurance is already going to cost a small fortune, if it goes above £1500 i may have to consider something else as it gets silly when you pay that much (spesh when i can insure a 350z for £800!!)
