I wish I had known about Hondas years ago, instead of buying Discos and Vauxhalls.

We have had our 2.4 Type S for 7 years and it has been totally faultless (touch wood). The only thing needed in those years has been tyres and brakes.

Superb engine and very easy to drive.

I don't know how they compare to the 2L, as I haven't driven one.

My only gripe with ours is the mpg. With a six speed box and exceptional areodynamics, you would expect it to do more than 35 to the gallon cruising on the motorway. My 3.5 ton high top Master van does that!

Well my Honda Accord Type-R is 9 years old this year and has done 165k, nothing has gone wrong apart from a clutch covered under warranty when new.

I am also looking to get a Type-S estate, I keep getting seduced by a BMW, Merc or Audi but just KNOW that they will end up being less reliable.

Only thing is the wife thinks they are hugh, I am sure they are about the same size plan size though.

Funny that as we went to look at a Type S estate this weekend and swmbo said exactly the same.

I had a 2.4 Tourer. I loved it. The only thing that went wrong was a sticky rear brake calliper in the time I had it.

Economy was poor (mine was an auto) but I had a great drive from Marlborough to Salisbury late one January night and the car was fantastic considering it`s size.

If I can find a good diesel executive in a few months I`ll snap it up.
