A list of whats avaiable for the Civic Type R Fn2 (not sure if they work for the 1.4, 1.8 and 2.2 models)

AEM Short Ram, from what i understand, not worth it.

HKS Racing Suction Kit, Good for the reviews people give, not as much gains from gruppe m but sound is nice, good chance of a flat spot, so will most need a ecu re map

Gruppe M, Very good, great gains, not much noise increase. you can get a gruppe m (expensive and hard to get, google is your friend), this gives a bit less than the mugen air intake and your don't have to remove your fog light.

Mugen Airbox, Just better than the gruppe m if you remove one of your foglights so you have a direct cold air intake, if not its losing most of its gains and well the gruppe m would be the better of the two. Does fit in and replace from the OEM airbox unlike a new box completely with the gruppe m

You would also need to get a ECU upgrade to get best from them.

Also in future tell us what model you have, eg. type r, 1. or 2.2 etc etc

Piper, well it is affected by the heat,

so if you sit ilde for a while not keeping the engine bay cool it can actually effect the performance. and its not the best out there.

k&n make gooooood filters but the induction kits again are a bit of a let down, if you want a decent induction kit its one that is will an airbox, s gruppe m and mugen, gruppe and mugen are expensive but give best gains, while the HKS its a mushroom type filter head is better than pipercross, k&n or any other of the filter bult designed intakes on the market, while you spend more money and you get the gruppe m or the mugen and you get great performance. But remeber with almost any induction kit, you will need to have it remapped, that means a trip to TDI north(closest to me) to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing and have a great demo car with a load of mods on it.

Get yourself over to www.civinfo.com and get into the forums, there are plenty of reviews of all the kits avaibable and paul of tdi north is the man to talk to about them hes gives all the info about them

If you're even semi-handy with tools it should be no bother to fit, and they make a great noise - in fact the best noise you're likely to get from an intake.

The best thing you could do would be to register on TRO and have a read here: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php... There's plenty about the Gruppe M in there.
