Well apart from some body parts and different wheels its a std FN2 type R (its not the £38,000 jobbie) I think the car looks good,it could do with some more go,handles well (19" wheels are not as good as the std 18") LSD is std so thats better my plan at a later date is to supercharge it and upgrade the brakes to cope,I then think it will be a very good ,quick car.

Prob a great piece of engineering. At the end of the day it's still a hatch though? Nothing special... to look at anyway?

Nice car, but its way overpriced. 1 1/2 years ago new shape Type Rs were going on the net at a little over 15k, you would have to be a die hard Honda fan to pay for this, and unfortunatly you need Die hard Honda fans to buy second hand, or they dont sell, or expect big losses 2nd hand.

I suppose if you love something and you want it.. and can afford it.. then do it.

For most, the price would be a put off. If you are fine with losing so much in depreciation then that is fine. Its like people who buy Jags... You will lose a lot of money but people do not care I suppose.

Sorry to have a small pop. Best of luck with your car and I hope you enjoy it! I won't race you in my S2000, i am sure it won't keep up!

Its okay after having a couple of new shape Audi S3 I find the type r a tad slow, but its a more of a fun drive and no I wont race you as I am sure I wont keep up.
If I am honest I found it hard to find a car (that I could afford or wanted) that has the fun aspect without silly speeds being involved.
Guess various levels of depreciation are a part of life I have tried the sensible route and yes , there is quite a choice of cars for £24,000 but not if you want new and with a bit of fun thrown in.
No probs with the pop after all this is pistonheads and we are all into cars in one form or another.

Get a JRSC on it mate. Give TDI North a shout.

S2000's arent that much faster than the old CTR EP3 so you wont need much to keep up wink Only about 1.2 second difference on the 1/4 to an FN2 and you loose most of it on the Launch. I tested EP3 and S2000 against each other from Rolling 10mph uphill to a certain point and and the EP3 was 3mph slower. Most Honda's stock are pretty much the same.

Just enjoy it, then S/C it them enjoy it some more biggrin

Indeed; its tough to find a car you truly want!

Tough to move from an S3 to an Civic. I miss the Audi 4 wheel drive system. I miss the quality too!

I have a thread up for while about my next options.. i keep swaying. it's tough. Too many st cars about and not enough decent ones!

I am still getting used to the torque steer at the mo(guess the std 19" wheels dont help) I did 35,000 miles in just over a year in my Audi a rock solid, safe, comfortable drive but boring unless you got to silly speeds, the Honda is certainly rough and ready compared to the Audi but that is half the fun (I think).
Certainly be hairy with a supercharger though.
