Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of a decent rolling road in or around Wales, I want to Map my DC5 powered prototype which is running on a MOTEC ecu, so they'd need to be proficient in MOTEC?

Cheers

I don't think Motec can handle the maps for each of the cam rotations from 0 through to 50 degrees? At least not in the past, I haven't kept up with recent developments and maybe they have an iVTEC module now. Unless you need the extra functionality (datalogging/live mapping, pitlane speed limiter etc)then a Hondata KPro may be a better option?

I can highly recommend TDI http://www.tdi-plc.com/ (they can do Motec and Hondata) although TDI North may be closer to you (Hondata only iirc)

I'm not sure which MOTEC was unable to handle the VTEC management either? I've spoken with MOTEC a couple of times and they've never mentioned a problem with the ECU's capability's? Its an M400 ECU? Maybe the M4 was not capable? I actually have a Map already in my ECU from its previuos owner who also ran it on a DC5. The reason for the re map is that I recently raced the car and found the engine terribly flat so need to get it on the rollers to re-map but also to ensure that all the relevant functions are working? It may be a case as you've mentioned that the MOTEC can't map VTEC correctly so someone who knows them intimately would be great.

Not Wales at all, but tour de force in Kimbolton should be able to help you..

DC5 isn't i-VTEC though, iirc - that came in the Accord (Mark VIII ?) MY '03.

DC2 = VTEC 1.8

DC5 = i-VTEC 2.0 (broadly similar engine to the UK EP3 Civic Type-R with a few breathing and mapping improvements, DC5 engine also fitted in the JDM EP3 CTR)

Ah...so the K20 introduced the i in i-VTEC first - thought it was the '03 Accords.
Live and learn.
