Are you looking at engine modifications or appearance?
Either way, it's probably best to sign up to a specific type-r forum as you'll have all the information you need if you need it quickly.
A couple of the more popular forums are...
http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/
[url] http://www.type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/index.php[/u...
Although there are some very technically competent people on here as well, it's just not busy.
Enjoy the car, I had the same spec/year and spent/lost thousands modding it... great fun though.

Ha Ha it can be classed as a chavs car i know i can only use tis forum at work all other sites are blocked but yes engine mods any idears
I can only speak of what I tried and tested. If you're after power;
Toda Header
Spoon B pipe
Spoon N1
Hondata Kpro
Hondata Gasket
Eathing Kit
GruppeM induction
Teins suspension
Spoon Engine mounts
and a few other things...
That, all mapped properly came at 268bhp from stock reading of 199bhp.
The main difference was the lose of V-Tec kick - it was instant power. I'm currently driving a FD2 at the moment that has a nearly-stock engine and has be RR at 244bhp.
My old EP3 definitly felt quicker because I didn't wait for the V-Tec...
The next step would have been a supercharger - there are two main options - Jackson Racing or Rotrex. There are many opinions on both, but as i've never owned a supercharged EP3, I can't give any worthwile advice.
If you've got other specific question, I'll be happy to give you my experience, but ask 10 people and you'll get 10 opinions.
But if I were you, I'd honestly do the research via the forums I linked to out of your working hours. Go to a couple of the meets as well...you'll get to see/hear/experience everything before you pay your hard earned money.

Cheers mate what do you mean when you say (My old EP3 definitly felt quicker because I didn't wait for the V-Tec) all hondas have vtec dont they
With everything listed above, I was able to, with the Hondata Kpro, lower the V-Tec point and raise the rev limit. In the older V-Tec engines, it was my understanding that you could get V-Tec controllers and vary the point of the kick in the rev range.
With the iV-Tec, this was pointless and potentially harmful because you need to adjust the fuelling to match - and some other parameters - so my -Vtec point on part throttle was raised higher for the benefit of economy, but on Wide Open Throttle (WOT), then the change over point was lower. something along the 3900 or 3600 (It was a while ago). So if I put my foot flat to the floor, I was on the higher cam straight away - which gave the impression that I had 'lost' the kick because it was on earlier with no delay. Unlike my FD2 which is quick in V-Tec, but you can be caught out in the wrong gear and have to wait for the revs to raise.
The above is my understanding and more importantly, non technical explanation, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

ok i understand that civic must have been quick do you remember the 0-60 or top speed
The top speed only changed by one mph because the gearing limited it anyway, so raising the rev limit increased it... 0-60 I've no idea about either, although I used to go to Santa Pod at every opportunity as I used to live near it. My best 1/4 time was 13:02 and a terminal of 99mph.I could hit 60 if I banged on the limiter in second because of the raised rev limit, where as standard you need to change into 3rd. (This was all datalogged, not my mate sat next to me watching my speedo)
To be honest, the quickest and cheaper way is to bung a charger on. The guys running super chargers would blitz my time and they didn't spend as much.

sounds good but when you go down the route of supercharging would you not have to uprate the internals of the engine i.e forging
No. I'm sure you could if you wanted...but generally no. I changed the valve springs with some TODA items, but many people leave the internals alone. As long as you get the fuelling correct i.e. getting it mapped and bigger injectors and make sure the oil level is good, then you should be fine. That reminds me - I cannot stress enough how important the oil level is. Check it all the time.

Nope Standard car insured with adrian flux 21 year old with 3 points held licence for 2 years
Ahhh...ok. Just to rub it in, I was 27 with all those mods, 6 points - £640.
On the FD2, group 20, imported, 0 points, 31 - £440.
Still, cool car at 21...
And put some pics in the Jap Car section when you can.
