Am likely to be keeping the 2.4 Accord for another year, so thinking of tentatively playing with the engine.
Looking at the Brian Crower 2.6L conversion (with or without Hondata to permit option of different cams), and intake and full exhaust for better breathing, but also aware of the Comptech Supercharger route as the alternative (Hondata definitely needed though?).
Also brings Skunk2 into the mix, in relation to one or other, and K20A3 head (what exactly does having VTEC on the exhaust valve side provide over the standard K24's inlet only - emissions or power, if not both?)
Lighter flywheel probably added too, but nothing too perverse - only looking to make a quick "street" machine rather than a track one.
Suspension will get dropped 40mm to remove the 4x4 look, and possibly upgrade the ARB's front and rear.

So, anyone knowledgeable about either of the two engine options, and Skunk2 parts suitable for with either approach?
Who should I be talking to regarding this - anyone extraordinarily gifted with current Honda tuning?
All this on a 7 y/o car with 113K, but well maintained engine.

Cheers chaps.

I may not be of any help here, but I have been looking at accords and have found the CL7 Euro R. Would it not be easier or better to just purchase one of these imports? It comes with the K20A engine from the DC5.

Yes, but there seems to be a synergy with the K20's head on the K24's bottom, but I don't think I've ever read anything that explains what the benefit is.
If I was was looking to change car, then I'd seriously give an imported Euro R a look in, but to go from one Honda to another seems a bit of a sideways move, especially of the same model year. Trading 'up' to an '06 facelift, with the additional bits that that brought would be the only option.

DC 5 is a nice car, but the interior is just a bit too yesteryear for my liking, and probably a bit too go-karty.

As in the pre'03 2.2 block ATR? No thanks, and it doesn't solve the problem, as it's a backwards step, especially the 1980's dated dash.
Bottom line, no-one here has a clue by the looks of it, so I think I'll have to join a more focused Honda forum for advice.
Surprised no-one's even mentioned any Honda tuner who's considered a bit of a VTEC guru, to have a chat with.

Ho hum......maybe a remapped 530D is worth looking at again.

PJS, talk to these guys http://www.cplracing.co.uk/

From what i've read, what they don't know about building Hondas isn't worth knowing.

Also, read up here http://www.k20a.org/forum/ for everything you could possibly want to know about K24/K20 hybrids.

You're right, I don't know what I need (hence the thread hoping to get clued up and understand some of what I've read on various US [mainly] forums), but as I have a K24 engine already, I'm curious what options are open to me.
I don't see the logic in your recommending I swap the bottom end for the CRV's - it'd make more sense if I was building from a chassis only point, but with a fully working car as the base, the realistic options are as per my opening post.

Thanks all the same for chipping in with some ideas, even if wide of the mark for what I'm looking for/envisaging.
