I am a new S2000 owner, a 07 model with 20 k on the clock, had it myself 4 months.

having had it for a bit I decided to get some performance driving tuition, from cadence.

This is where it went a bit pear shaped - with the milbrook section of the day. 5-minutes in and a couple of circuits of the steering bowl, about 8k rpm in second, I spun off - again, and the emissions light came on.

We aborted the milbrook session, headed for bedford honda, who reset the electronics, said nothing wrong, but did note an overspeed indicator. (asked if we had been going fast!!!).

During my brief session on the steering bowl I noticed a slight smell of sulphides, something I had noticed once or twice on start up.

Does anyone have any clues what the problem may be, if indeed there is one, and will it happen again if I rebook my Milbrook session

Thanks

regards

Sulphides = Eggy right?

Did you stall it when you span it? Excess fuel enters exhaust, enters cat making eggy smell, burns causing emmissions light to come on maybe?

Yes, sulphides, bad egg gas. I stalled it twice. Certainy the previous, non millbrook occasions were on a cold start. So, if you are correct (makes sense to a biologist) the full choke on start up may push some un-burnt fuel into the cat.
