Is anyone currently running, or has run, a decat replacement pipe on there EP3 CTR. I'm thinking about it, and wondered if it made much of a noise difference running the standard exhaust system. I would like a increase of noise from the rear end as i live near a rather good tunnel.... wink but dont want to chavtasicfi' my car.

Any advice on this topic would be great.

Cheers all.

It will get a touch louder. The sound will change as you throttle it, more of a tin sound. If you going to decat it you rather go for a performance back box & dont use the standard system as you wont get much gains in performance.
oh yeh' its going to need more fuel aswell.

How so? Is the Lambda sensor in the cat?

I have racing header with full decat pipe and 2.5" straight exahust...it does make a difference and sounds much better especially in vtec. i think you get around 10-15 extra bhp depeding on system, but car feels a bit more responsive. There are two lambda sensors, a pre-cat and post cat one. The engine light with constantly be on with a decat pipe unless you upgrade ecu and get re-mapped. You can get o2 racing simulator from cpl racing to wire to second o2 sensor and have codes reset to get rid of light but i find light will come on again after high speeds. A few people i have seen with decat pipe leave second o2 sensor out completely and put a bung in the sensor hole.
