I have a mb6 b18 c4 vti (1998)
I am thinking of putting in an integra dc2 S80 gearbox into the mb6.
I have been told it should fit straight in. just wanted to makesure with some advise with someone who actually knows.
Will i have quicker gear changes with throttle & staying in the vtec rpm range ?
thanks . . .

You shouldnt have a problem. A friend of mine has done the same thing after I recommended him the car as finances dried up for me (another thread on here regarding MB6). He purchased one and mated the s80 stating he found no problems bar the lack of space in his garage.

You might aswell upgrade the clutch and flywheel at the sametime,
Also going for a different intake manifold and throttle body will help the car breathe alot better no doubt!

There are two different gearboxes from the DC2.

the JDM 96 spec item and the 98 spec item.

Both boxes have different ratios.

Make sure you choos the box to the ratios you want.

Here is a good gear ratio calculator you can put in the ratios, to see what you want:

I have put in the JDM 96 spec ratios Vs the 98 spec artios for you to have a look at.

You can also have a play with Max Rpm and tyre/wheel sizes to see how gear speeds are effected.

No worries.

In which case it will be a 96spec JDM gearbox.

Happy fitting.

my bad. Lol . All i saw was 97-98. Not the R. Lol. So if it is off an R plate uk car then has 98 spec ratios. However uk cars were not made in 1997, so best not go off plate.
