Hi,
First post on here, just sold my leon cupra R this morning and am now hunting for an S2000. Budget is approx £9k so just wanted to know what I should be able to get?
Want a 02 or newer idealy with as low miles as possible and a full service history.

No problem - right now £9k should get you a good 2003 car, perhaps more privately. Leave it a month or two and you'll start to find decent '04's around that sort of level as the winter blues hit soft-top prices.

...so depends what you're after. IMHO the '04's have better marginally better interiors and apparently slightly more forgiving handling (my '03, with the right geo and cross-braces, was superb, so at least half of it is geo). But the OE tyres on '04+ (17" RE050's) aren't rated quite as highly as the "replacement OE" RE050A for the 16" rims of the older cars. So it's really down to what 'look' you like better and what the best car you can find is.

One suggestion - might be worth getting a warranty with it. There isn't much that goes wrong, but it can have the odd big bill...

Thanks for your replies guys.
I've just been to look at this one today and i'm very tempted!
Couldn't see anything wrong with it and looked to be a very clean example BUT its the first one i've seen! What do you think??

I think whoever is selling it doesn't know the car very well - "ESP" did not appear on the cars until 2006 (and then it was optional "VSC"). Can't be retrofitted to earlier cars as the VSC system requires a drive-by-wire throttle.

...oh, and it's lady-boy blue, but don't let that put you off! wink

This one looks like it could be worth a punt...

VSC is actually VSA wink and is only available on +06 drive by wire cars
Having said that I have Racelogic Traction control on my 05 car so there is a system you can retrofit if you want.

The ebay one looks like a fairly genuine MY03 car, that colour is a bit "marmite" and can be hard to resell.
I don't live too far from Stockport if you want me to have another look with you.

The Monte Carlo Blue one Havoc links to is alos nice.
A more sought after colour as that was the last year they did it.

I'll might sell you mine if you want. 47k on the clock, '02 model upgrade, and I've owned it since new so have every document and every service receipt etc etc.

Whatever you do make sure it's full Honda service history, there's no excuse not to have one as Honda servicing is so cheap compared to other marques

Got it.
Had a look at a couple of others but they were no-where near the ebay car, will collect it tonight.
Probably rushed into it a bit, but after driving it I dont think there was any going back.
Full honda history with 6 stamps, 4 new tyres, just need to get the insurance sorted today.
Actually quite like the Man city blue and thats coming from a Man U red.
Thanks for the offer Mikey, if id checked the forum before I went yesterday I would have probably taken you up on it. Who would you recommend for servicing or any other work around the south manchester/cheshire area?
