Have a p72 obd1 ecu in a honda civic 1.8 mb6.
The internal rom is jun racing vtec 4400rpm to 9200rpm
knock sensor has been disabled along with the speed limiter
The vehicle has a 4-1 manifold, decat straight through pipe, high performance back box and forced induction arm.
After running this ecu i have not noticed much difference apart from a slight better pull in mid range normal driving.
I need some advice if anyone has run something similar?
I cannot tell if i am loosing my top end vtec engagement as the vtec is kicking in so early.

Is it running a generic jun racing map on it?
I can't say 4400rpm is an ideal vtec point, plus the map is not generated for your actual car so will never be as good.

Your best bet is to get the car mapped to suit, ideally get the car on the rollers.
I think vtec at about 5k and rev limit around 8.2k is perfect, the engine only really makes power till around 7500rpm if im not mistaken.

You ought to try a type-r intake manifold too. I don't know if the p72 ecu will work right with the 2-stage intake manifold that's on your engine.
