In about a years time I'd like to get rid of my first Car and go for something faster.
I'll only be 18 with 1 years No Claims so Insurance Is an Issue! I'll be In the Army so should be able to save a fair bit as I'll be busy training for the first 6 Months which should give me a good bit of money
Been looking at Civics (EK4) and I've decided It's definitely a Jap Car I want!
Something witha bit of poke but also good Handling, wouldn't mind a RWD or a 4WD and having a go at some Drifting
Probably have about 5k for the Car an Insurance but that's just a rough number.
Cheers, Butch

Hi Little Butch
For that sort of price range, you'd be good getting an EK4 Civic VTI, I think they're along the lines of a 1.6 VTEC, the one with the B16 block, not sure on figures, but they're around 160 bhp I think? A friend of mine had one then modded it quite seriously, made it into a showcar, but the base model was definately no slouch- his 1998 one set him back about 3k, and your insurance would be around 1-2k (very, very vague here!), but for the money, you'll get good economy, vast amounts of tuning available and a bit of a 'street sleeper' in appearances.
Apologies that's vague, but should hopefully point you in the right direction... Worst case, check out the link below-

its always great to look, but if its in a years time prices will be different and even peoples views may have changed.
If you really want RWD fun with some form of sensible insurance I suspect American import, classic or Kit car will be a much better financial proposition than anything Jap.
