I was only asking what the differences were between a normal S2000 and the Type R version of the S2000. I didn`t mention Civic or Integra etc. I couldn`t find much about the R version of the S2000 on the internet. The reason I asked is I am seriously thinking about buying an S2000, and saw advertised an imported JDM Type R version. Maybe it is just badged, or doesn`t exist, that is why I posted on here. In my experience it is good to tap the wealth of knowledge on this website. I don`t think this is a time wasting question, even if I were a teenager!
You couldn't find much info on the internet because there is no such thing as an S2000 Type-R.
There are, of course, wallys putting Type-R badges on their S2000s (although I've never seen one) no doubt or even trying to pose as a type-R, probably using the fact that it's an import to fool the less knowledgeable.

Could you then explain why you've been asking questions about:-- buying a 997 GT3 RS from Scotland
- buying a Z3M from Solihull
- buying an AMG-55 motor
...and yet also asking questions about:-
- aircon on a 98 Almera
- how much to pay for a '99 Impreza Sport
(There aren't many people who'd be in the market for an £80k trackday supercar and a £2k Jap shed, it has to be said...)
...and then coming out with this bone question (which IS bone unless of course you're the sort of chap easily taken-in by the eBay merchants...I've got some glass nails I can sell you, by the way!)!
You ARE a sad teenager AICMFP!
Is anyone on here using an S2000 for track days? Any shortcomings emerged, like brakes etc? I enquired about a slighly modified yellow JDM car but it had just been sold. There is a standard UK 2004 car for sale, that is not much more than a 2000 car. Is the later car better to drive as is usually the case, but not always. The car will be used on the road and track, but with several different drivers. The Hondas I have had in the past (nothing very fast) have been a delight to drive, so I was hoping this would be the case with the S2000.
Thanks to those that have been a help.
