Buying an Integra Type - R
Discussion
Hi guys, wondering if you could help.
Recently sold my 2005 Cooper S and bought a 2000 5-Series with all the toys for my commute.
I now want a fan car with the balance between the two (£5000). Want reliability, good performance, good looks, brilliant chassis, thrashable engine and won't have much depreciation. Which pointed me to a Integra Type R DC2(?). Ideally looking for a 1999 or 2000 model in white with red Recaro's.
However thats about all I know. There seem to be many with 100k+. I assume this is ok?? Is there a buyers guide, hints or tips as I know little about these awesome beasts!
Thanks
Matt

The main check is for full service history.
The second thing I'd be checking would be the quality of the gear change in 3rd/4th at high revs. The synchros tend to go quite early (mine went at about 40,000 miles).
There should be one or two low mileage, original cars still knocking about. Take your time looking.

Evo buyers guide here (7th from bottom). If you read it you will want one. Its like a flaming advert and rightly so.

A high miler will probably have a fit engine but tired dampers and bushes - not the end of the world, but you'll probably want to change at least the dampers, which is extra cost.
Imports not a bad idea, IF a '98 model is in your budget...better brakes, plus 16"s, xenons and a couple of other tweaks.
