Hey All, (sorry for the spelling mistakes :P)

Well my accord is due a service soon and it needs brake pads and new brake discs.

I was wondering is there any better discs rather than the standard accord ones. Im not looking to spend a ton of money, but was hoping there might be alternates then the standards that would have a sharper feel to them.

Car is 2004 Accord 2.2 i-CTDI Exe with 17inch alloys.

Cheers.

Matt

Sorry, but I don't rate BD's all that high, nor EBC whom they like to mention having beaten in "tests" which I can find nothing on their site or via Google.
Anyway, having researched the whole brakes and pads thing for my 2.4 Executive, I wound up settling for Ferodo Premiers, and discs, which have Brembo printed literature in the box!
Throw in some Motul 5.1 (no need for the RBF600) brake fluid, and you'll be grand.
Cracking feel/modulation, and pretty feirce stopping power when bedded in and a decent set of boots fitted.

I'd agree with PJ - a good set of 'branded' blanks (if Ferodo = Brembo, get 'em) and ditto pads - unless you're track-daying the car you don't need EBC/BD/Tarox - Ferodo DS2000's should do the job very nicely, DS2500's if you really need to stop and like cleaning alloy wheels...

25's aren't available for our car - still peaking out on the ATR from 2003.
Didn't know about 2000's - but suspect much the same story.

As above, have had to haul up sharpish on a couple of occasions, and the Ferodo and Falken 452 combo has had me very happy they're fitted to it.
Brake dust is also vastly reduced from what had been fitted previously, and what there is of it, even after a bit of time since last cleaned, is pretty easy to dispense of.
So, major thumbs up from me for a similar or less spend on OEM branded.

Cheers all,

So Ferodo Premiers seem to be a good option here. how much should a full set inc pads set me back?

www.thaoc.co.uk - register and search for Ferodo, you'll find the thread with typical prices for them and comparative brands.
