Right from when they first came out, people raved about them.
I had a poster of one on my wall when I was a kid.
They sound fantastic.
They're quick - perhaps not as fast as TVRs etc, but not slow.
They're reliable.
OK, so "it's not a Ferrari or a 911" - but it was always cheaper than either.

So why didn't they sell?

The 'H' emblem was associated with Mrs. Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances. People who could afford an NSX could also afford a 911.

70 odd grand when new, most people spending that much money can't justify a Honda keyring when a Porsche one comes at the same price. Shame but badge snobbery is what most people care about. Imagine the scenario, you are at some do, some top bit of flange is nearly in your grasp and she asks you what car you drive, looks like the Honda was a bad choice, unless that filly knows her cars. Shallow i know, wouldn't stop me purchasing one, albeit given the choice and the same amount of money now would get me a either an 8 year old second hand Maserati or a 16 year old Honda.

Unappreciated by those with money, as said above.

Funnily enough, their residuals are at least as good as the 993s from the same era...so they ARE appreciated now!

That's also because they're massively rarer.

Wish they'd sold a few more... I want one. frown

Perhaps if they would have been sold as Acura NSX over here they would have sold more. Same thing happens in America with Lexus,Infinity, etc.
