After selling my last car I was fancying something a bit different. Years ago I had a CRX 1.5i, and I am looking for a reasonable conditioned CRX Vtec prefer siR if anyone has one. If anyone knows of a one for sale up near Newcastle, could you let me know. I have trawled through pistonheads, ebay, autotrader and CrX uk to no avail. Any help appreciated.

These cars are going to be 17+ years old by now and many have been molested/killed. Patience is the best advice.

When I was looking 4 years ago, I got lucky and picked up a low mileage example from an old couple. I live in Cumbria, I had to go to Kent. I had to make the decision to go for it before it got offered to others.

When I sold it, a guy rang and offered me £100 more than the asking price so I wouldn't sell it before he got the ferry from Northern Ireland at the weekend.

Mk2 CRXs tend to have quite a following!

Mine was an immaculate 1991 VT in white and I loved it.

If I was going to buy one again I'd look at the 16 rather than the VT as it's a whole lot lighter and the engine is actually better suited.

Good choice of car, I used to have a 16v and absolutely loved it.

My brother currently has a white imported SiR sitting in his garage yet to be registered (it's quite far down on his list of projects!) but having a potential buyer might be motivation enough for him to get it done!

It's in Perthshire which is only about 4 hours drive from Newcastle - so if you're interested drop me an email and I'll get you more details.

Cheers,
Tino

Thanks Tino,
Any photos appreciated. Any idea of how much he may sell for?
Is it the classic shape or the del sol edition?

Tino may not reply - he's a bit busy getting stuff ready for Le Mans (Jammy sod wink)

Its the classic shape CRX inbetween the MK1 and Del Sol.

Nice car from what i have seen of it, and they are getting harder to find in good nick!

Have a browse on the CRX owners club, Clicky

I bought both of mine off members on there.

Edit: Ignore this message hehe just noticed you already are aware of the place.
I'll leave up the link for anyone else it may benefit.

A 1988 1.6i-16. Silver. The first car I ever lusted after...

Never got one in the end but I still trawl A/T and PH classifieds to see what's there.

Timeless.

Eddh,
I ended up getting a decent celestial blue vtec. K reg '92 with 74k on the clock. Needs a few bits and bobs. Going to do the vtec valve as it has a leak and it looks like I need a new radiator or at least a recore. But overall its in quite good shape.

Radiators are usually knackered! You might want to check the sills and the rear wings, too. The sunroof drain holes can cause no end of problems.
