Just covered 51,000 miles in the CTR and was wondering when the clutch is likely to expire? Perhaps i'm more mechanically-sympathetic than i think ... aside from the occasional ragging and trying to keep up with M3's (using the well-established technique known as cadence clutching) ... it's mostly done short commuter runs and trips on the A3/M25. And what does a dealer charge?

I used to abuse my CTR and never needed to replace the clutch in 125,000 miles. It obviously varies depending on driving style (particularly if people ride the clutch at junctions) but the clutch is a tough little sod.

Mines on its way out (on 65k now)

Been quoted approx £450 from honda (yeomans Chichester) as its now part of their happiness scheme.

Some people see 100k plus, depends how you drive

Mines not far off 100k now and whilst the clutch is getting a bit heavy, I haven't noticed it slipping at all. Yet...

Mine is sitting around 85k and is starting to get heavy and hard to change gear sometimes so presume it will need replacing soon.

Basically you need to Vtec in 2nd whilst holding the cigerette lighter in and the hazard button. This allows you to drive through the M3 thumbup that is shifting gears trying to understand how he has just been man raped by a civic.

Alternativly see another thread in general gassing... M3 Vs Civic type r...
