honda civic tech info help please

As the new (relatively) owner of a 1991 civic 1.6i-16 can anyone advise me as to what gearbox will fit which has a taller set of ratios. The standard box gives 80mph at about 4000 rpm. This will easily pull a higher gear which would return better fuel consumption on motorway runs.

Also, since it does not have power steering as standard, am I correct to assume that the power steering rack etc from the 1991 1.4 16v will fit straight in.....or is there a better alternative?

Any help will be most welcome.

I'd be surprised if you had many options, to be honest. Especially when you consider the cost and effort is probably not that far off the value of the car.
