prelude 2.2 VTI
Discussion
Shortly after launch thee was a problem on a few with high oil consumption.
This was traced to the coating on the composite liners.
If your car has made it this far it either never suffered or has been fixed already
No other faults that I am aware of.
IIRC the 2.2 did't have 4WS but the 2.3 did, so no worries there.
Enjoy!

2.2 vtec engines in these DO have 4ws. Whether that be the 4th gen (1992-1996) or 5th gen (1997-2001).
If you go to look at a 5th gen Prelude, ones after very very late 1998 models have 197bhp and a red-top painted engine. 2.2vti's before late 1998 have 185bhp and a black top engine.
All 4th gen 2.2vtec's are 185bhp apart from imports which are 200bhp. Some "lightweight" imports dont have the UK cars 4ws or cruise control.
Look for rust on the arches, make sure the 4ws works (a light on the dash should illuminate when starting the engine and then go out). Put the car on full lock at low speed and stick you head out the door to double check.
Check out www.preludeuk.co.uk for the UK Owners club with stacks of info.
