Having some trouble getting hold of RE010s (195/55/15) for my DC2 in time for my MOT this weekend, I've been trying to find some for a couple of weeks now without success. Most places I call tell me they have been discontinued.

Can anyone recommend me decent alternatives that are in more abundant supply?

I believe that Hankook RS2's are a good substitute although have a slightly more flexible sidewall.

I've got RE010's on my DC2 and I sourced a set of four spares just in case they disappear all together!

I got a pair of RE010s from http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ two weeks ago.

Saw Hankook RS2s recommended on ITR-DC2, I'll try and find some locally.

Unfortunately event-tyres won't come all the way up to Glasgow frown

Im having the same problem, doesnt seem to be any decent recommendations for alternatives in the correct size. Shame the RS2s dont come in 195/55.

Not seen that eventtyres place before, might look into that.

The Kuhmo Ku31s got a kinda warm review? Most tyres dont have the sidewall stiffness required it seems.

yes

Conti don't go down to that size in anything good and Bridgestone have 'moved on' except for occasional batches of RE010's...shame, as the old S02 was (sidewall excepted) a very good all-rounder, much better in the wet than the -010's.

I've heard Parada Spec-2's mentioned on the forum a couple of times, but have no experience, and don't know if that's in 50/15 or 55/15.

Dropped car off this morning for Paradas in 50/15. Looking around at reviews the side wall could well be an issue but I've been on firehawks since I got the car so they're unlikely to be any worse...

Personally I would avoid Kuhmo's. I put a set of KU31's on the DC2 when I struggled to find RE010's - the lack of feedback is astonishing and responsiveness is down 100% due to sidewall flex. Back on 010's now - phew.

Add an extra 2-3psi all-round. The S2000 (on 16"s) has the same issue as none of the replacement tyres are as stiff as the now-discontinued OE S02's. Increasing the pressure in the T1-R's I'm running has helped to some degree.

Will do thanks for the tip smile

The Teg is like any hot hatch on most tyres. Only RE010 and S02's make it a fantastic driving experience. I put yoko s drives on it and ruined it.
I am hoping the manufactures talk of yoko Ad08's, toyo R1-R and Hankook RS3's coming to the uk in 195/55 15 happens soon.
