don't buy a type r lookalike. It would be like stuffing your pants with a pair of socks.

Anything modified to 'look' like a sporty car is going to be expensive to insure.

Be sensible and get an old beater for a few years to build up NCB's/save money, then buy the real thing later. I had a few beaters till I could afford something half decent without cripling insurance. Recommend something like a Pug 106 diesel... yum. biggrin

honestly... an original mini, or a ford ka. Learn to drive first mate, properly. Keep it cheap, light, and low powered. This way it won't cost the earth and you will learn how to drive effectively. I ran a ford ka for nearly 4 years. Cracking little car and cost next to fk all.

I have never had as much fun with a car than with my first one - a reddy brown 1.2 Ford Fiesta. handled like a dream, never went wrong.

Fantastic.

if i had my time again (old git mode) i would have bought beaters for a few years instead of massive loans, crashes and debt.... I would have been so much better learning how to drive well, rather having the right tools only to find the owner (me ) wasn't up to scratch.

What about a Civic Sport. They look very similar except for the wheels. Not sure on insurance group but at least you could keep that std and they won't have the excuse to load your premium.

Hey i have honda 1.4 thay are good cars to be honest, its my 2nd car good handeling and great when you need some speed drop it from 5th to 3rd and off u go like a wee rocket:P.Insurance for me was just over a grand with 2year no clames and i got the car for a grand so still was pritty expensive, now i got quotes for 670 but dont needto insure for another 3months though.

you could ither go 2nd/named driver on a policy that still lets u get a no clames bonse an ur mom/dad insures the car in there name that way you will pay a lot less, alternitvly

if u have a good bit of cash to spend buy a stty car that as cheep as possible to insure fully comp it/this should allow you to drive any car with owners permishion/ur mom buys and insures the NICE HONDA type R or what have you,she pays pennys ,u give her the cash for it obv and u can drive it smile
if u get that lol?
