Right i have a EP3 CTR. I have been keeping note of how many miles i have been doing per tank and its between 210-270. Thats out of 50litres/11gallons. Can other owners post up periodically what there civics are throwing out/ or any k20 engined cars.

This month average MPG is 24.7

Are you running it to empty?!

Fill it to the top.
Reset the trip computer.
drive it until time to refill.
see what miles you did.
refill with fuel and take note of how much you put in.
then divide those miles by the refill litres and times by 4.546.
this give you the mpg you did.

If you just divided the miles covered on a tank and divided it by the total tank size then you would be wrong. As when you refill there is likely 1 or 2 gallons left!

I never really cared, and I cared even less once the supercharger was fitted. You are best doing as descriped above, but for a few weeks to get an average.

I think my range was around the 300 to 320 mile mark as the low level petrol light came on very early. I did once get nearly 420 miles on a tank, but I had a different fueling map that raised the cam change over point much higher in the rev range.

Personally, I found the oil consumption to be a more interesting figure.

When I say 'interesting', I mean 'how fking much?!?!?!?' kind of 'interesting'.

Only reason i say that, is the Civic has a 50litre tank according to the brochure. So if you are using 50litres then you must be pushing the car into the forecourt? tongue out If not, then I expect you are probably using more like 40-45litres between fill ups.

I can't comment on a K20a as I have a B18 Integra which averages 32.5mpg at the moment.

Funny how it differs from car to car. I only use about 1 litre to top up my CTR between services.

Last time I checked how much I got to a tank it was about 320 miles. I guess it depends on your driving style, if you vtec everywhere you'll use up more petrol.

I think I fell down the slippery slope of modifying the engine, at which point, oil consumption created it's own slippery slope, upwards.
