A friend of mine is looking at a Integra DC2 Type R and the seller has said that there is a a bit of bubbling rust on the rear arch. Is this a major problem with the tegs and also can anyone recommend a buyers guide or anything to look for?

Have a look over on www.itr-dc2.com - good site for everything Integra related. I had one and absolutely loved it. Look for original cars. Some will have closed induction kits, which are ok, open ones can reduced perfromance as they suck up hot enginebay air. For the best balanced cars you want to look for original 15" wheels (uk car) and Bridgestone RE010 tyres which this car was developed on.

They are awesome little coupes.

I have always liked them but heard stories that they are not a daily driver due to their stiff set up. the one my mate has seen is a Milano red on a 98 with 106k. I think that is as good as you would get for £3000.

Cheers for the advise, should come in useful.

I've got one & I would have a serious look if it is rusting as they're not generally known for it. The main areas they can rust are round the wheel arch as dirt can get trapped between the bodywork & a piece of plastic that surrounds the wheel arch which can then rusts - Out of interest CRX's do tend to rust round the rear wheel arch's. I would disagree with the fact that they are not sutable as daily drivers as I've used mine for years as a daily runner. They do have a hard ride & there is a lot of road noise so if you're looking for creature comforts & a soft ride it's not for you, but if you want a bit of fun - you can't go wrong

I ran mine as a daily driver for 2 years, although it has a harder ride than other cars and has no sound proofing, those seats more than make up for it, the best seats of any car I've experienced. It'll certainly have no problems being used as a daily driver, it's a Honda after all smile

Can't speak for the rust problem, as my car (2000/X) had no problems, but I've heard of a few cars that are starting to go frown

How can you say that they are not known for it, loads of DC2's with 100K + miles on the clock suffer from rust on the drivers side rear arch. I know because mine does as well and there are plenty of threads on DC2-ITR as well. frown
