S2000 Stereo Code required

I have recently purchased a standard single cd/radio for my S2000 from ebay . The car came to me with an Alpine aftermarket one but I want to return the car to satndard , already got rid of the loud exhaust and air intake and now the radio, trouble is it's asking for a code , anyone know how to get the code from the serial number on the head unit ?

If the unit is as originally supplied by Honda your local Honda dealer should be able to obtain the code for you via their computer system. But it may be linked to a car rather than the unit serial number? It worked for me with a used Accord where the code had been lost - and the dealer didn't charge.

I tried Honda today but no joy , they need reg / chassis / serial number and as the radio's an ebay item I dont have the first 2 , took it in to a local locksmith who also does decodes ,transponder key fobs , alarms etc , should get it back tomorrow
