Funny - my turbo must have fallen off then...
I read otolith's post as "Civic type Rs do not have turbos as standard", but I can see how you could read it as the exact opposite! Depending on if you put a comma in the sentence or not!vz-r_dave said:
I am amazed that someone who has nearly 1000 posts on PH a car enthusiasts site does not know if a Type R is a turbo or not. Honestly lol No offence intended but its a first for me thats all.
Hey, there are plenty of people on here with more posts than me that wouldn't know a Honda VFR from an RVF, it just depends on what circles you move in normally. vz-r_dave said:

Does a CTR suffer from 'lag' in naturally-aspirated form? My mate tells me the VTEC takes a while to like 'kick-in'.fido said:

I have one (02 plate ep3)...
Bit off topic but here goes..!
Its a great car that still turns heads. The VTEC is very addictive but if you want to overtake quickly be prepared to change down 2 gears before you do.
The car have virtually no power below 5800rpm so it has to be thrashed to be enjoyed.
The induction noise is awesome with an open cone filter or CAI.
Power upgrades are very limited if you are on a budget, Expect to see an extra 40 bhp with a full exhaust system (£300 second hand) Cold air induction kit (£100 second hand) and a fully programmable ECU (£750 second hand without mapping)

Been thinking about adding a little induction noise/CAI on mine recently - any particular kits you would recommend?Bit off topic but here goes..!

Fairer to say that the car has "only" as much power as a Focus ST170 below 5800rpm, before anyone gets the wrong idea - even if you change up at 5800, it's still just as quick as most other 1200kg two litre NA cars. It has "no power" if you accept that all ordinary non-hot-hatch hatchbacks have "no power". It's only really when you compare it to 200bhp+ two litre turbo hatches that it looks weak at lower revs.Gassing Station | Honda | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
