went on you tube yesterday and saw a clip of a civic redlineing at nine and a half thousand rpm how is this possible?

Probably has been tuned to reach the higher RPM - Different Cams perhaps

never been into jap cars relly always been a ford man but then someone up the road bought a 1.6 vtec civic
was dx but converted. then one night i was sat in house and next minute f**k me what a sound ran to the window
like a f**king kid. ran up the road next day to see him and he took me for a spin WOW what cars been looking to buy one just need to find a cheap insurance quote lol biggrin

Reset the ECU rev limit to 9500rpm, uprate the cams, valves, springs and retainers to cope.

what is possible when tuning these engines as if i got one i wouldnt want to turbo it

Folding down the rear seats can help raise the rev ltd to 9.5k rpm.....tongue out

It was probably a red one, they tend to be quicker

Spoon - think they have done an engine that revs to 11K, iirc.

Your gonna need an aftermarket ECU, cams springs and retainers, aftermarket cambelt, Ported, polished and skimmed head (dont need it but good to get it done anyway)

All this done on my B16A1 CRX VT revs to 10rpm now.

But dont really take it there, or dont feel the need to.
