Well there was a chap advertising on PH recently who was into that sort of thing, but I don't think he ever said where he was based. This was the chap who said there was no need to tell your insurers because they probably wouldn't notice, but if you're going down this route I suggest you do tell them, and I'd suggest finding out what effect it would have on your premiums first. It's probably not going to cost much, unless you don't tell them (in which case it could cost a huge amount when they find out).
the only reason i want it done cz while driving around 30mph as i put my foot down and try to drive away the car rev's all the way to 5'000 rpm and then the car shoots off like a rocket reaching speed like 30 to 50mph in less then 6sec'z might sound like a good thing but it eating my gear box away just changed it and its working fine but now it does it now while driving around 60 or 70mph. i was told that the gear ratio has been changed but dont have FSH.

Even mentally putting a few full stops into that lot I haven't the slightest idea what problem you're trying to solve or why you think that 'chipping' is going to help in any way.I'm not sure if we need a translator or a psychologist.
Anyway:-
- If the car has already been remapped and is behaving badly, then yes you need someone to sort it out.
- If it hasn't then there's no way a stock engine would cause that sort of behaviour, so look elsewhere rather than trying to 'tune' the engine right - likely to be a waste of money.
- So it IS however quite possible that there's something wrong with the 'box which is causing this behaviour.

If it's the 'lean-burn' 1.5 engine, then there is very little point in messing with it .. it's designed to operate as a 12valve lean-burn engine below 3Krpm, and then normal 16valve up rto 4.8Krpm. Might be cheaper to sell the car and get a thirsty 1.6ESi/VTi MANUAL. Note the emphasis on manual.

Thinking about this though, when I had my ESi I could still manage 42mpg driving very gently on long trips! Around 32-35 around town....Even my EK9 does around 32mpg.... sometimes
