Just got an ATR (pre facelift) and wondered if there are any other ATR owners lurking in the depths of PH??

Dear paulrhodes,

yep, 1999 had it since new smile but not for long:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Cambelt tensioner failed (non-terminally fortunately, just noisy, maybe I was lucky) a few k before cambelt replacement was due. 'leccie aerial failed a few months ago. r o/s window mechanism failed about 2 years ago. Otherwise petrol, oil, tyres and servicing and that's it. Most reliable car I've owned, even original clutch/exhaust.
Best fwd chassis I've driven, feels light for its size. Functional interior, everything you need and nowt you don't. Great seats, yea even after 500+ miles/11hrs...
..and the touring car noise/rush to the red line when the VTEC kicks. 30mpg avg., mostly supermarket super but recently Optimax which it loves and better mpg too.
Two niceifs:
Another cog, unless your shift point is precise you hit the rev limiter or drop just below the VTEC zone.
Detail differences in suspension setup - tyres wear unevenly,

regards,
Jet

I'm loving it although the weather has been terrible since buying the car so since my ownership began it's been filthy and hardly been used.

Still, I'm hoping the weather will get a tad better and I can go for a run through the Cotswolds this weekend.

Its an S reg, which Im led to believe was one of the very first ones made and was given to the press to use to test drive it?

How about picking up the keys and driving it!
