Has anyone suffered a clutch failure at low mileage on their diesels? We have just got through ours at 22k miles and have been told it was 'worn out' The vehicle was always driven carefully and neither my wife or me has ever destroyed a clutch even in cars with 150k miles on them. The warranty was 2 months out, but Honda have replaced the clutch paying 50%, but I have heard of issues with cruise control switches not being set up correct causing the release bearings being pushed on the clutch causing un noticeable slip, which then shows up as a worn out clutch.Has anyone suffered problems, as Honda said they have had no clutch issues.I am going to get an independant engineer to assess the roller switch setting ( I have the measurements from a Honda install doc) and various other settings on the box, to confirm what might be an issue and go from there.Just need info of other premature clutch failures. Thanks

Justin,

Yes there is lots about it on civinfo.com. The good news is that Honda have recently confirmed it is a manufacturing fault.

Get it booked into your dealer.

It has been into the dealer and they said it was worn out.I wanted to see the clutch and they said it had gone back to Honda.Honda had replaced it and charged me £520 for the job as labour and they picked up the clutch bill.I still am pi$$ed off with a £520 bill,as if it was a fault of manufacture, they should really be paying the lot.Honda head office don't want to know and the dealer says ask Honda HO. So I am over a barrel, but at least the car works, although the clutch has never started biting as low as it does now.
