IPOD Headunit?

I have an 05' EP3 CTR. I have an IPOD. I have a vast assortment of leads. How do i connect the wee feckers? My mate said i have to take the head unit out, and plug into the back. It has the aux output button/thingy so i know it can happen. I have no clue how to take the head unit out. I have just been and had a look at it and there are no external pin points, its just flush. I have the standard CD player with the little tray beneth. Ladies. Gentleman. Your assistance please.

I'm looking at the back of my standard unit and can't see an iPod type connection (04 EP3), I've taken a shot for u to show:-

Most new headunits come with usb connection now and the usual place to put the lead is through the back/side into the glovebox.
It's difficult to remove the ep3 stereo unless u know what ur doing, you have to go in through the gear gaiter to remove fasia and there's a fiddly bolt/screw to remove where the stereo is fixed to.

gutted to hear bout your incident, I'd be pretty peeved too
