NSX Replacement

Honda to debut concept in Tokyo

Honda is to test public reaction to its new HSC (Honda Sports Concept) in Japan next week. The Tokyo show will play host to the car which hints at what is to come from the Japanese manufacturer.

Honda HSC

Whilst the NSX is still a very capable car, it's now getting long in the tooth and Honda need a fresh new range topper.

The concept features a long wheel base with minimal overhangs and once again makes use of a mid mounted 300bhp, V6 engine. Gear shifting is via a paddle shifts.

This is one VERY good looking sportscar, well done Honda. It might need a bit more power to compete with the big boys.

does anyone else think it looks like a T350?

Only joking, it's just that everything looks like a T350 to trevor drivers.

that said, what a nice looking car, a bit better than the usual derivative euroboxes you get from Honda. Hope it sees production without being watered down too much.

Very much like the look -

However: 300 bhp. Quite simply not enough for that market.

Yeah, I thought Enzo too...with a bit of lotus thrown in for good measure.

But that's not a bad thing is it? After all the NSX was always considered a "watered-down for the masses" Testarossa clone.

It looks fantastic IMhO, if a little more accessable aethetically than Honda's mediteranain mews.

Honda seem to still be up to their usual tricks though... just because it seems underpowered, don't expect it to be left behind the crowd.

This is bound to be one clever car!

Rear looks a little like a Zonda.

Much needed face lift for an excellent car though.

Dont worry too much about heaps of power.

Make it a real drivers car and keep it cheap.
All those highly powered barges are just getting dull, its time to start fresh.

Article mentions a 300bhp V6, but what about the 150-200hp IMA motor that might be tucked away to give a bit of extra poke when required. 450-500hp, 30+mpg.

I'd ignore the figure of 300BHP. Look at the R34 GTR. Quoted as 280Bhp but more like 300+. Don't forget Japan has the Gentlemans agreement to 280BHp for emmision reasons. Plus with so many companys like Mugen and Top Secret offing massive power kits you'd probably be able to see off plenty of things on the roads for a small price.

That'll be yet another sodding NSX concept then. Build it already! Enough!

wonderful... so good to see a truly modern design... this is a tough one to call derivative. enzo has similar overall theme, but nothing is a straight copy, in the manner of say a c5's fender vent being like an RX7's. Still not my favorite looker of a production car, should it look like this when it gets in production, that's held by the ford GT, but at least this is a new design, something that can't really be said of the Ford. 300 hp is a smart choice... makes NSX an eccentric, weight-centered concept. Let's just hope they match or cut from the current car's weight to significantly improve the pwr-to-weight. NSX vs camaro in a straight line has always been too close. This needs to be at least corvette-quick. I can't weight. I bet it'll be a scorcher.... still can't believe the look.... wow

Hmm, I like it in the flesh. Looks a little smaller and more like something that could have come from a racing track. Always thought the other one looked a little too Japanese.

More than a hint of Zonda IMO, prefer the original based on the pictures here. Shame the interior of the original is so Civic-esque. Bigger shame I can't afford to insure one
