Due some, shall we say "unfortunate", events I won't be having a fast car again for "a while".

I need to get rid of it asap, ideally before the end of the month. Its a 2004, just had the 54k miles (Non hardtop).

What do you think I'll get for it? Im pretty clueless - Ideally i'd like to get £12,5 but it seems quite unlikely - do you think I'd manage to get £11,5 in todays climate?

Not good Russ...hope whatever it is can be worked out / sorted out! PM me if I can help at all.

Value? F*** knows. Normally I'd say ~£11-12k realised cash easily (i.e. advertise £500 above), but with the way the market's been performing over the last 3 months, and given the sort of car, I'd say it really depends how urgently you need the cash:-
- Urgent: Be lucky to top £10k
- Within a month: £10-10.5k
- I can wait: £11k as long as it's a straight and clean car.

Ouch indeed! Remind me not to head back to Snowdonia anytime soon...

What you need is a car that feels fast without being effortlessly quick like the S2000 (or anything with a turbo). So even a 60-70mph B-road blat feels like an event.

So e.g. a Supercharged MX5 would be about as big as you'd want to go...

- VTEC Mini?
- Caterfield?
- BMW MINI Cooper Works (note not the -S)
- 205GTi Mi16
- 306GTi
- Clio Williams
- Mk1 MR2
- Lotus Elise / VX220 (n/asp)
- classic (pre-Chimaera) TVR
- Capri?!? wink

Don't drive over the speed limit is the only way to be sure frown

My first 3 were well deserved (89 in a 60 d/c - unmarked Impreza)

Second 3 was 72 in the 60 variable limit down the M42. The SPECS between 6 and 7 are LIVE. I was actually keeping up with the flow of traffic, so a bit annoying, but ho hum.

And then 3 up in Brunstrom country on Tuesday, 37 in a 30 - I saw the van, checked my speed, and thought it was a 40 limit.

Live and learn!

Regarding the value I'm not to sure but when I sold my 05 plate S2000 in July I advertised it for 15,200 and got the asking price. The first person who call brought it but I did have about 3 more calls asking about the car and where genuinely disappointed when I said it was sold.

I think for the face lifted cars there is much more demand than the non face lifted ones. I would ask about 13,000 personally and see what happens.

I think your original pricing is spot on.

Just don't rush to sell it.
