hey there,
just wanted to know the pros/cons of buyin a cat C car, its a civic S plate coupe looks decent enuff,everythings cool apart from the cat c part lol fact remaining that the owner never told me that when i saw the car, i only saw that when i saw the log book....
so could any1 please tell me the adv/disadvantages of gettin a Cat-C car as i will need 2 give me word to him today

Cat C can involve pretty extensive damage. Personally, I wouldn't buy one without seeing a few photos of the extent of the damage before it was repaired and some receipts to show the repairs had been done professionally.

I'd be looking to pay way less than the market value of a straight car too.

If it was repaired in the last few years it will have needed to go to VOSA for a VIC check but this is only intended to assess the identity of the car - they don't check the quality of repairs of anything like that.

Having said all that, cat c or cat d cars can be a good buy if you know exactly what you're buying.

If you're not sure, walk away - there are hundreds more cars out there that don't have any issues.
