So, I have a 93 lx civic sedan, with lots of miles in it, but in overall good condition. I know it's not a sportscar, but it is all I have to take to the event.

I've read this: http://www.turnfast.com/home
and this: http://www.drivingfast.net/index.htm
(every word of it)

So I am not completely clueless, what I really needed to know is:
How many laps the brakes can stand?
Is DOT 3 brake fluid enoughor should I change to DOT 4?
Will I burst into flames, or something close to that matter?
Anything else I should be worryed about?
Thanks in advance

Ps: I'm from Brazil, please don't bash me because of my language mistakes or for my crappy car smile

brakes:

How long will they last? I'd imagine standard brakes getting very hot after a few fast laps. Just make sure you do a slow laps to let them cool. also don't park with your handbrake on with hot brakes.

It might be worth taking a spare set of brake pads with you, just incase you cook the old pads.

As long as the car is in good mechanical condition then you shouldnt have any problems.

If there's still DOT 3 in there, I'd switch to DOT 4 at least, preferably DOT 5.1 just to be sure (DON'T use DOT 5, it's totally incompatible).
